Why you should start slimming down now!

Five pounds never stays five pounds. It quickly becomes 10 and then 15. Then one day the scale sits at 200+. It is important to work on slimming down any extra poundage as soon as it is noticed.

1) It is easier to lose 5 pounds then it is to try and lose 20.

Being overweight is just not fun. Shopping for clothing becomes a chore. Something dreaded not enjoyed. Nothing nice ever fits. Large clothing is usually more expensive and less attractive. A slimming diet plan can be less expensive and more healthy in the long run.

3) The body hurts and there is less energy or get up and go. The harder it becomes to get up and do something about slimming down.

4) As women become older it also becomes harder to lose weight even when using a slimming diet plan. It is not just being trapped by habits or comfort. It is about how women’s bodies change as they become older. After menopause women often store more fat around their middle. Their metabolisms slow down.   • Every 2 pounds a women gains increases her risk of developing osteoarthritis (arthritis).
  • A small increase of 11 to 18 lbs increases a woman’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes to twice that of one who has not gained weight.
  • Women who have gained more than 20 pounds from age 18 to midlife double their risk of post-menopausal breast cancer when compared with those who kept their weight stable.
  • Having a high BMI (body mass index) puts women at risk for fatty liver disease and gallstones.
  •  Middle – aged obese women are three times as likely to suffer from Gall bladder disease.
  • High blood pressure and stoke are twice as common in obese people.
  • Obese women are at increased risk for developing colon cancer.
  • They are also at risk to develop cancer in other areas such as the gallbladder, kidneys, breast, uterus, cervix and ovaries. 
  • Being severely overweight can also cause infertility, menstrual abnormality, miscarriages and birth problems for both mother and child.
  • High blood pressure is twice as common for obese women than those at a healthy weight.
  • There is also increased risk of heart problems, and heart attacks, even cardiac death

6) Central obesity for women is defined by a waist circumference of about 35+ inches.

  • Central or Abdominal obesity is a symptom of cardiovascular disease and insulin resistance syndrome. The higher the weight the greater the health risks are.
  • Diabetes is four times more likely in middle-aged ladies who are obese then those who are not.

Slimming down is not about vanity. It is not about fitting into a dress. It is about being healthy. Weight gain is not a game. It is a health risk.
