If a single parent has chosen to go it alone form the start it must be easier than for someone who conceived believing their partner wanted a child too and would be able to share the responsibilities, hard work and also the joys and rewards. I had the dream of raising a family with my husband but it did not work out. However, once I had made the conscious decision that I wasn't going to let circumstances ruin my or my daughter's life, I actively set about turning an apparently devastating situation into the wonderful lives we lead today.<br><br>If you take control, organise things well, build a support network and embrace the joys of having a child, it is possible for single parents and their children to be truly happy.
