Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Losing a couple of pounds here and there does not only mean that you are good for that day. It’s a round the clock work. Thus, if ever you have decided to lose weight be sure you are consistent on your effort and has strong commitment to live a healthy lifestyle.

Most of the problems of most people who want to lose weight is that they only think of the results and the target date or dress size. They never realize that right after they reach their targets, they will fall off the wagon and go back to square one. Worst, they will be at their heaviest without even noticing it.

If you have heard the rumor or have seen it on TV about the winner of the Biggest Loser (years ago) went back to his old fat self again. There are some people who even questioned where he has been and why people don’t see on him public. Guess what? He is hiding from the public because he let himself go and went back to square one.

This is what usually happens to ordinary person turned celebrity. Their 15-minute is over when they can’t cope up with the public’s expectations for them.

It’s also the same with ordinary people who can’t cope up with their family, friends and colleagues’ expectations.

In order to avoid being scrutinized and live a miserable life due to being obese, here are some steps in order to live a healthy lifestyle:

1. Support

Having the right people who love you for you and will help you out during difficult times is the key. At least when you fall down, there will always be people who will pull you up when you fall. In this way, you will not end up being alone and live in misery.

2. Eat fresh vegetables

Do not attempt buying those frozen ones you see on the market. Remember, only fresh veggies do have the complete nutrients that your body needs plus the taste is soothing to your palate.

3. Drink tons of fluids

Never forget to drink fresh fruit juices not the powdered one or carbonated one and of course don’t forget to drink water.

4. Exercise

This can include sit-ups right at your living room, hiking, walking, jogging, lifting some weights, and doing aerobics are enough. Don’t forget to stretch your body before and after exercising in order to minimize the feeling of soreness.

How to Exercise Your Way to Optimum Health & Fitness 30 Minutes a Day

Monday, June 1st, 2009

It is recommended that the average woman get at least 45 minutes to an hour of physical activity each day. For beginners this number is lowered to at least 30 minutes a day in order to have adequate weight loss and fitness. However, if you’re like most women, you simply can’t find 30 to 45 minutes a day to devote to working out due to your busy schedule. Don’t worry as there are exercises that you can undertake in spite of your busy schedule.

Finding time to exercise will require that you be resourceful. The idea here is to keep moving at all times. For even some of the simplest tasks such as talking on the phone, you can still find a way to turn this into an effective workout routine. For instance, take your cordless phone or cell phone with you while climbing up and down the stairs for a few rounds. Or, you could also bring your cell phone with you while you walk around your company’s parking lot. The point being, as long as you are moving, do whatever works for you to keep you active.

When trying to stay in shape, a common misconception amongst women is that they have to exercise for long periods of time before their routine can be the least bit effect. This is not true, and in fact, even short bursts of activity have been found to have a profound effect on your weight loss goals.

Studies have proven that women who complete fifteen 10-minute exercise routines a week are able to increase their youthfulness as well as strength, flexibility, and endurance than someone who is 10 to 15 years younger. If you wish to improve your health and fitness, short bursts of activity are much more effective than longer, structured workouts as long as they are done on a consistent basis.

Try breaking your exercises into small chunks throughout your day. Knowing that you have a long workout ahead of you can be daunting, that is why it is recommended that you begin with short 10-minute routines that can be accomplished rather easily. As long as you make a little effort each day, you’ll have all the motivation you need to continue working out consistently.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that short bursts of exercise are not mean to replace your regular fitness routine, but supplement them.
