Aging and growing older is a natural action one comes across as days and years pass on and on. One can not stop aging process but can try controlling the appearance that shows you aged among a group of youngsters. Dullness, wrinkles over face and skin, hair loss and graying, sluggish looks at the age of 40’s? So how would you look at the age of 60’s?

Aging is out of our control but keep up fitness can change your looks completely and make you feel ten years younger than your coworker. The best part one can play to keep up complete fitness is to adhere to healthy balanced diet with regular workout of yoga, exercise and some small spa activities.

Stay young from within!

Go green and fresh with your eatables; take a diet that supports you with a good energy to burn through out the day’s activities. Keeping one’s life scheduled with a perfect health needs a complete focus on the eating habits, day’s activities, way of dressing, keeping up your circle of social events active, a good skin tone and a perfect trim look filled with complete confidence from within. Maintenance of good metabolic activity requires a regulation over the food patterns.

Aging facts

Changes in the body happen due to the activities of the hormonal changes in the endocrine system. As we age the endocrine system slows down reducing the working speed of the body leading to the shrinking of skin, bones, muscles and involuntary as well as voluntary actions. Research has shown that pituitary glands also secrete some of the hormones that add to aging.

Some of the ways to look younger even when you grow older are for your reference.

Skin Care

Skin appearance speaks on your age! Nourish and moisturize your skin to keep up suppleness, balance your skin PH level.

Avoid sunburns and tans with sunscreen creams that suit your skin type.

Small spa activities like Medicure and pedicure, hair maintenance can help in showing you younger.

Facial looks

Wrinkles near the eyes, nose, lip margins and forehead are the ones to be treated at first. Skin lift hormone replacement therapy, cosmetic surgery, anti-aging laser treatment are some of the advancements that can be used when the wrinkles bother your looks.

Anti-aging creams and face lift massages can slow down aging process.

Avoiding excess fatty and oily food stuff is more important to keep good health. Keeping mind happy brings a great change in one’s life. Sufficient sound sleep helps in complete relaxation and recouping with the repairing activities in one’s body. It has been found that aging process is fastened as the brain is stressed than its tolerance capacity. Keeping off stress and tension, unload your worries by stress relief methods help live longer and younger.

Taking care of skin is something which should be done on a regular basis right from young age. In spite of the fact that many people know this, they neglect this exercise. One of the most affecting reasons is that they do not understand the importance of regular care for skin. It is not just about washing your skin with any soap and some water, but it is much more than this. It is essential to understand the needs of the skin so that you may understand you skin in a better way and meet its requirement.

Taking care of skin does not only meant by keeping it clean with water and soap. Internal cleaning of the skin is also essential so that you may have a glowing and healthy skin. To start with, you should clean gently your skin with a very mild soap so that you may not hurt your skin. Avoid using a brush or any other harsh material on your skin as it may damage it by tearing the topmost layers. It would be better to use plenty of soap in a circular motion and then wash it off with lots of water. This activity will clean the dead layer from the skin and leave you with a natural and clean look. Whether it is dry, combined or oily skin, you can apply this cleaning process on any kind of skin you have.

It is also important to give nutrition to the skin from within. The vitamins and moisture which are present in the various layers of the skin reduce with the age. The skin starts losing the elasticity as we grow older. This is the time when wrinkles start appearing on the skin. Although there are wrinkle lift creams available in the market, but you should choose one according to your skin and with your doctor’s recommendation. Dmae cream may provide you relief from wrinkles for sometime, but if you take care of your skin in a more natural way, you would surely get some good and effective results in less time.

Every skin needs some special care. Although, skin is majorly divided into three categories – dry skin, combined skin and oily skin, but everyone has different needs to keep the skin healthy. Apart from these skin types, there is one more skin type which is very commonly found and named with sensitive skin. Sensitive skin care should be done in a proper way otherwise it may get severe damages. You can get a natural glow by eating healthy food and drinking ample water daily. You should include edibles like green vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, yogurt, beans, garlic, onions and barley as these are considered good for skin. This is not a one day process but if you follow good eating habits on a regular basis, you would feel the difference yourself. Drinking plenty of water would hydrate your skin and regain its elasticity which may slow down the process of wrinkle formation. Just understand the various needs of your skin and have a wonderful and glowing skin.

You can also get full details of High protein diet to improve your health and make your health perfect by reading the author’s article.

Acne is a condition that characterized most of the teenagers, but adults can also be affected this condition that can have an important impact on psychological comfort and self-image of people affected. Statistics indicate that this is actually a relatively common problem encountered of about one in five people presenting acne in adulthood, women are more affected than men. From a health perspective, the acne is called acne vulgaris during adolescence and should be distinguished from rosacea, a condition that occurs in adulthood.

Looks like acne?

Typical acne lesions are comedones, whiteheads or so-called blackhead, whether talking about the face, neck, chest or back, these are the areas most commonly affected. Comedones represent the accumulation of sebum and keratin. Primary lesions can evolve after inflammation, the appearance of papules, pustules (so-called pimples with pus) and even lumps or cysts, lesions may heal with profound appearance of pigmentation (spots) or various types of residual scars.

What are the causes?

Even in adulthood, hormonal fluctuations can occur and to induce acne. Androgens are hormones incriminated and their level may vary during menstruation, ovulation, pregnancy, perimenopause, or even from taking certain types of contraceptive pill. Women may see acne in these circumstances. Adult acne predominantly affects women, but men are not spared either. Certain drugs or hormone therapy may also be guilty for the appearance of acne, so it is useful to ask your doctor about side effects of drugs administered during a certain treatment. Also, if one parent had acne, a person’s risk of developing acne in adulthood is higher. Certain diseases such as polycystic ovary syndrome, can trigger acne in adults.

What are the solutions?

The first thing I want to emphasize is that there are solutions and acne is a curable disease! Patients often get disappointed or frustrated after a dermatologist visit that he does not manage to overcome this problem, often being in a position to have previously tried various solutions, whether on the advice of an acquaintance, either on its own initiative, with results more or less conclusive. Each patient is an individual case and, although there are some general principles of treatment, therapy should be adapted to each case, so visit the dermatologist is the first step to be performed in solving a problem. Patients should also be realistic in terms of time. Often after 1-2 weeks therapy is abandoned because the results are not seen immediately. Is a frequently encountered mistake. It is very important to keep in touch with your dermatologist and go to regular checkups to monitor the evolution and adjust treatment if necessary.

Myths about acne:

Acne is caused by inadequate hygiene

Stress causes acne

Certain foods cause acne: this has not been demonstrated, but is valid if rosacea, a balanced diet is still indicated.

Do you have dark circles under your eyes? While, you’re not alone. Dark circles are one of the most common dermatological complaints. Unlike wrinkles and other signs of aging, this is a condition which can creep up at virtually any age. Surprisingly, there are some people that develop them as early as their teen years! But regardless of your age, you probably want to know what can be done to improve them. Some people claim vitamin K eye cream can help… but is there any science behind that claim? Let’s take a closer look…

What is vitamin K?
You may be asking what is vitamin K? It’s one of those vitamins we rarely hear about. However it is still an extremely important vitamin nonetheless. It’s a fat soluble vitamin that is found in a variety of fruits and vegetable. It plays a key role in supporting a healthy circulatory system and maintaining healthy bones. It has been used for several decades within the medical field. In fact, it is often give to patients in the days leading up to a scheduled surgery in order to promote healthy blood clotting (so they don’t bleed excessively). It is important to note that I am not a medical professional, so you should consult one if you would like to learn about the healthy benefits of vitamin K.

Why causes dark circles?
First it’s important to realize that dark circles are not caused by a pigmentation problem in your skin. Rather, it is a condition that is the result of overly-prominent blood capillaries under the skin’s surface. Because the skin under our eyes is so extremely thin, it has a tendency to show the underlying structures (more so than elsewhere on the body). If the capillaries under the eye are not working properly, their dark color is more prominent since the skin covering them is so thin.

Why is Vitamin K used in eye cream for dark circles?
The best eye cream for dark circles often use a 5% concentration of vitamin K. Why? Because when the vitamin K is applied topically under the eyes, it reportedly can help to rejuvenate those overly-prominent capillaries. Many users experience a noticeable improvement in their dark circles after using a vitamin K eye creamfor six to eight weeks. Some continue to experience further improvement when used longer, too. Although vitamin K eye cream won’t work for everyone, at the present time, it does appear to be the most effective treatment available for dark circles.

A couple decades ago, voluminous curly hair was all the rage. However for the past few years, the trend has shifted to straight and sleek hair. In turn, many women (and men) are resorting to various techniques to straighten their hair. Some of them, like flat irons and blow dryers, are a relatively harmless approach to take. However others are using hair relaxers, which are often made out of highly corrosive chemicals. So that brings us to the question… is it safe to use a hair relaxer? Let’s find out…

What are hair relaxers?
Although there is no official definition, this term is typically used to describe hair care products which are designed to relax the hair. They work by using powerful chemicals that re-align the hair follicles so they lie straight. The most common active ingredient they used is known as lye; an alkaline sodium hydroxide substance. With a pH that typically ranges from 12 to 14, this acid can easily burn the scalp and destroy the hair follicles. Over the past several years, there have been some natural hair relaxers that have come onto the market that incorporate gentler ingredients. However lye hair relaxers still remains the most popular due to their low cost.

What are the dangers of using hair relaxers?
As we’ve already pointed out, they have the potential to cause chemical burns when they come in contact with the scalp. For some people, they also destroy the hair follicles, which can result in temporary hair loss. However there are many people who have reportedly experienced permanent areas of baldness over time from using hair relaxers. In addition to these aesthetic problems, some products may be dangerous if they are absorbed by the skin and make their way through your body (at least in theory). This is why it is definitely best to avoid using a hair relaxer during pregnancy.

Should hair relaxers be completely avoided?
It is a personal decision; one must weigh the pros and cons to determine whether or not it is right for them. That being said, many people are turning to the newer formulations of natural hair relaxers which are reportedly known to have fewer adverse side effects. Alternately, many women are cropping their hair short and turning to wigs and quick weaves instead. A quick weave is like a wig, but it is worn over one’s natural hair. It certainly is a safer way to have straight hair, but the drawback is that it may not look real if a low quality quick weave is used.

Just a few decades ago, plastic surgery was a rarity. Today, it is one of the fastest growing sectors of the health and beauty industries. While it’s true that most undergo these procedures purely for cosmetic reasons, there are many others who do it for reconstructive purposes following an injury or to correct a deformity. Whatever the case may be, it can be an intimidating process… especially if you don’t know much about plastic surgery. If it’s something you are considering, here are some tips on how to choose a plastic surgeon, courtesy of PlasticSurgerySpot.com:

Board Certification
In the United States, did you know it’s legal for any medical doctor to perform plastic surgery… regardless of what their expertise may be? In turn, many unscrupulous doctors are “cashing in” on this loophole by performing liposuction, breast implants, and other lucrative procedures when they really shouldn’t be. Many doctors can truthfully say they are “board certified” but you need to find out what they are board certified in. Only consider those whom are board certified in plastic surgery.

Specialization
There are dozens of different types of plastic surgeon procedures; breast implants, rhinoplasty, scar revision surgery, otoplasty, tummy tucks, and many more. Each procedure varies drastically from one another. Therefore it is important to only consider surgeons who specialize in the procedure you are interested in. Stay away from plastic surgeons that try and do it all. This is especially true with rhinoplasty; the most complex procedure in this field.

Patient Reviews
Nowadays plastic surgery is a big business. Many plastic surgeons resort to swanky offices and big marketing budgets to try and give you the impression they are the best… but are they really? The only way to find out is through patient reviews. One way to do that is to check plastic surgery forums to see what others are saying. For example, if you are considering a tummy tuck, check a tummy tuck forum. If you are thinking about getting your ears pinned, consult an otoplasty forum. Most importantly, you should ask friends and family to see if they have any experience (or know someone that has experience) with the surgeons you are considering.

So if you’ve thought you have to live with wrinkled, sagging skin, here’s an eyebrow raiser: New cosmetics and medical treatments abound to give skin a younger, healthier look at any age. Together, you and your doctor can decide what’s best for you.

How does your skin age?
Have you ever wondered why some people have great-looking skin in their 40s, while others show signs of aging as early as their 20s?

Your skin ages according to your biological clock, which is preset by your genetic makeup, and your exposure to the sun. Overexposure to the sun’s rays, as well as smoking, stress and pollution, cause your skin to age faster than you do. Your skin loses moisture and collagen, the connective tissue that gives skin its firmness and elasticity.

What’s the result? Wrinkles, fine lines, sagging and age spots as well as an unbalanced distribution of fat.

Basic skin care
Daily use of moisturizers and sunscreens that protect the skin from ultraviolet rays, both UVA and UVB, is one of the most effective means of preventing skin damage, rejuvenating skin and protecting yourself from skin cancer. Choose one with a Sun Protection Facto, (SPF) of at least 15. Start using sunscreen when you’re young.

Anti-wrinkle products
There’s a plethora of over-the-counter products, as well as prescription trentinoin creams, for reducing wrinkles and fine lines. These “cosmeceuticals” typically contain: alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA (glycolic acid, lactic acid); retinoids, (tretinoin, retinoic acid); antioxidants (vitamins A, C, E, beta carotene); or topical growth factors.

AHA creams can be used alone or combined with tretinoin to treat mildly damaged skin. They may improve the texture quality and elasticity of your skin by speeding the removal of dead skin cells and stimulating collagen. Retinoids work best when combined with AHA products. If used over a period of years, they will continue to reverse skin aging. Topical tretinoin must be prescribed by a doctor and rubbed on daily for several months before you notice improvement.

Did you know?
Injections, the latest beauty panacea, should only be performed in a medical office by a qualified doctor. Antioxidants and growth factors may also help reverse environmental damage to skin. With such variety, ask your doctor to recommend a customized skin care routine.

Rejuvenate with resurfacing
Resurfacing treatments remove outer layers of wrinkled skin on your face. Chemical peeling is just what the name implies – a chemical solution applied to the face to peel off surface skin so a smoother, unblemished skin shows. Peels can be light, moderate or deep, depending on the extent of facial damage.

Microdermabrasion gently scrapes away aging skin by blasting fine particles of sand-like crystals against the skin. Laser resurfacing directs a precise, intense beam of laser light over undesired skin tissue, vaporizing it one layer at a time to reveal new, firmer skin underneath.

Injectables
Injections of botulinum toxin smooth forehead wrinkles for up to four months by paralyzing the underlying muscles. The latest beauty panacea, these quick, simple treatments (they take less than 30 minutes) should only be performed in a medical office by a qualified doctor. To elevate wrinkles or pits and enhance thinning lips, the doctor can inject fillers, such as bovine collagen, or fat suctioned from another area of your body.

Cosmetic surgery
Today, women and men are increasingly indulging in cosmetic surgery. Why? In part because techniques, such as face-lifts and liposuction, are now commonly performed as outpatient procedures, with less trauma and faster recoveries. A face-lift can lift years off your appearance. By tightening sagging skin and repositioning fat through hairline incisions, plastic surgeons restore firmness and vitality. Liposuction is an effective way to reshape almost any part of the body by suctioning excess fat through tiny incisions.

But face-lifts and liposuction are still surgery. So in your quest to look firmer and slimmer, do your homework, especially in choosing your surgeon. f you’re considering any treatment… Evaluate your options. What are possible side effects? How long wlll results last? Can you afford the time? Is beauty worth the price? Talk to your doctor to see what’s best for you.

Adult skin flares up, too
Suffering from adult acne or rosacea can be distressing, but treatments are available:
Acne. You might suffer from acne as an adult even if you didn’t as a teen. Acne occurs when a skin pore gets plugged with dead cells and oil. Bacteria grow in the plug, causing inflammation. Causes of adult acne include medications; greasy cosmetics; constant chafing of the skin – by eyeglasses, for example; and changes in hormone levels. See your family physician or a dermatologist to track down causes and select possible treatments, which include over-the-counter preparations and, prescription medications. Laser or light therapies are sometimes used when other treatments fail.

Rosacea. If you notice a persistent redness across your cheeks, nose, chin or forehead, you might have rosacea. The condition usually begins between ages 30 and 50, and it worsens with time and may affect the eyes i not treated. The cause is unknown. Your family physician may recommend a prescription oral antibiotic, followed by an antibiotic gel or cream. It may take up to two months of treatment before your skin improves. Laser or light therapy may help if other treatments don’ t control rosacea.

Cosmetic companies are cashing in on women’s desire to stay youthful longer. Magic potions, creams, and treatments fill shelves for women who wish to remove wrinkles and any signs of aging. However, what most women don’t understand is that while very few of these creams may be a temporary solution to their problem, there are other more cost-free approaches that they can take to fight against premature again and help keep themselves looking younger for longer.

Aging Due to the Sun

Around 75% of skin aging is due to over exposure to the sun. For those who spend enormous amounts of time in the sun – either working or sun bathing – their skin may not immediately reflect the damage that is being caused, however, down the road, sun damage begins to take its toll. If you are one of the many women who enjoys sunbathing or tanning, it’s important that you use a strong sun screen. For those whose job requires them to be outdoors for a greater part of the day, the same advice applies as well. A good sun screen should be used regularly according to the instructions given.

Aging Due to Inadequate Rest

It’s important that every woman get enough rest. Women who get on average, six hours of sleep per night, will age quicker than a woman who gets the recommended eight hours.
Have you noticed that when you don’t get the proper amount of sleep, you begin to see bags appear under your eyes? You don’t need fancy eye creams and gels in order to remove these bags, but simply a good night’s rest in order to wake up feeling fresh and healthy.

Aging Due to Stress

Have you ever looked at someone and thought to yourself: “Wow, it looks as if she has had a hard life!” These individuals tend to look much older than they actually are. Unfortunately, more often than not, they are usually years younger than you pegged them to be. The reason behind their “hard” look is due in part to leading a stressful live. Stress can, and will, age your skin very fast. What we therefore need to do is attempt to lead a life that is as stress-free as we possibly can. While this may not be as easy as said, we must find a way to think in a more positive and pro-active way to avoid the fine lines and wrinkles contributed from stress.

Aging Due to Smoking

Smoking cigarettes will certainly speed up the aging process. Even though quitting may not be as easy as it sounds, it is a must if you wish to delay the premature aging process. Of course there are many other reasons to stop smoking, however, understand that it wrecks havoc on your skin.

Facial acne encompasses a host of skin issues such as blackhead, whitehead, and even blemishes. Acne is not age-specific and can affect you even in adulthood. Effective acne treatments are hard to come by, and for those that do provide somewhat adequate results, expect to spend a considerable amount on the product. If you can’t afford to spend money on treatments, the following are tips you can enlist in your skin care routine to help keep your acne at bay.

Clean Skin

A clean palate is the first step to decreasing your acne problems. Thoroughly clean your skin nightly in order to rid it of damaged skin as well to unclog your pores. Avoid harsh scrubbing as this may do more harm than good.

Exercise

Did you know that regular exercise not only keeps your whole body in shape, but it also helps rid your body of toxins – toxins that may be the very thing that is affecting your skin.

Stress

Stress can be a contributing factor in your acne. It would be in your best interest to try to relax and unwind. Believe it or not, the emotions you emit trigger chemical reactions in your body which can lead to outbreaks.

Diet

If you’re not eating at least 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables each day, you are doing your skin a great disservice. Fresh fruit and vegetables are full of the nutrients that your body needs. In addition to boosting your immune system and providing a good source of antioxidants, an adequate serving of fresh fruit and veggies will help get rid of your acne.

There are certain foods that you should abstain from eating, such as fatty foods and sugar which do nothing for your skin. You should also consume at least 8 glasses of water daily in order to flush your system of toxins.

Cosmetics

Ladies, it’s time to lay off of the heavy foundations. Instead, choose cosmetics that are water based and hypo-allergenic. If you must wear foundation, make sure that you are washing your skin thoroughly each night in order to remove makeup residue.
